چکیده

The abundance of computing technologies and devices imply that we will live in a data-driven society in the next years. But this data-driven society requires radically new technologies in the data center to deal with data manipulation, transformation, access control, sharing and placement, among others. We advocate in this paper for a new generation of Software Defined Data Management Infrastructures covering the entire lifecycle of data. On the one hand, this will require new extensible programming abstractions and services for data-management in the data center. On the other hand, this also implies opening up the control plane to data owners outside the data center to manage the data life cycle. We present in this article the open challenges existing in data-driven software defined infrastructures and a use case based on Software Defined Protection of data. c © 2016 The Authors. Towards Decentralised Resilient Community Cloud Infrastructures

Recent years have seen a trend towards decentralisation from initiatives on decentralized web to decentralized network infrastructures (e.g community networks). In this position paper, we present an architectural vision for decentralising cloud service infrastructures. Our vision is on the notion of community cloud infrastructures on top of decentralised access infrastructures i.e. community ne...

Nijmegen Evaluating the testing quality of software defined infrastructures

Software defined infrastructures are computer infrastructures expressed in computer code. As software defined infrastructures is a young technology the body of scientific knowledge on the subject is small. This study aims at identification of quality aspects of software defined infrastructure projects by interviewing practitioners in the field. The result is a quality model containing quality c...

A Qualitative Study of Domain Specific Languages for Model Driven Security

In Model-Driven development, software system design is represented through models which are created using general purpose modeling languages e.g., UML. Later on system artifacts are automatically generated from these models. Model-Driven Security is a specialization of Model-Driven paradigm towards the domain of security, where security objectives are modeled along the system models and securit...

Enabling Software Defined Networking Experiments in Networked Critical Infrastructures

Nowadays, the fact that Networked Critical Infrastructures (NCI), e.g., power plants, water plants, oil and gas distribution infrastructures, and electricity grids, are targeted by significant cyber threats is well known. Nevertheless, recent research has shown that specific characteristics of NCI can be exploited in the enabling of more efficient mitigation techniques, while novel techniques f...

Parallax – An Aspect-Enabled Framework for Plugin-Based MDA Refinements Towards Middleware

MDA has been around for more than three years already. Nevertheless, besides the lack of a standard model transformation language to support the MDA vision, there is even a lack of tool support to implement the platform-specific mappings promoted by the same MDA. For quite some years now, tool vendors offer the possibility to generate code for different programming languages, but the spectrum o...
